CMH Institute of Medical Sciences Bahawalpur and its teaching hospital (Combined Military Hospital Bahawalpur) are located in the heart of the historical city of Bahawalpur, the city of palaces. The college and hospital are spread over an area of about 40 acres.

The foundation stone of the college was laid in April 2015 by Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Shareef, NI(M). The project turned into reality in March 2017 with inauguration of college campus by Chief of the Army staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, NI(M).

The first batch of 100 students started their classes in March 2017. The college campus consists of all the basic medical science departments, the learning resource center including digital library, lecture halls, dissection hall and museums. College has a highly qualified faculty achieving highest standards of medical education and training.
